Digital signature certificates for online tenders in India:
The tenderers can buy TCS digital signature certificates online at https://www.esign.in/digital-signature-certificate. Depending on their requirements, users can purchase class 2 digital signatures certificates which are valid for a period of one year or two years. With the introduction of e-governance in India, digital certificates have become crucial and are used for e-procurement, online tenders, e-ticketing, e-filing etc.
For registering on the Balmer Lawrie e-tenders portal, the certificate has to be valid. Vendors should should ensure the validity of the certificate. They are recommended to get the certificate renewed well in advance, to avoid login issues at the last moment. The tenderers would not be able to submit their bids for online tenders with an expired DSC.
Vendors can obtain their DSC from a licensed Certifying Authority (CA) or a Licensed Registration Authority (LRA). At www.esign.in, the vendor simply needs to fill the online registration form and send it to the office with the required documents. In case of any queries or technical assistance, users can contact the representative at https://www.esign.in/contact-us . Upon receipt of the application, the certifying authority initiates the verification process. The certificate is issued within seven working days.
Licensed certifying authorities operate under the Root Certifying Authority of India (RCAI), Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA) of India. CAs are licensed third-party organisations that issue digital certificates. The certificates are used to create digital signatures and public-private key pairs. CAs guarantee the identity of the two users exchanging information during online transactions in which digital certificates are used. CAs play a crucial role in data security and electronic commerce.
